Body

One of our second-year Ph.D students, Jeremy CHUI, has been offered an honorary academic appointment through the MARCS International Visiting Scholar Program at Western Sydney University.

The MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour, and Development is a renowned international institute for brain and speech research in Australia and worldwide. This program provides four Ph.D. students per year with an opportunity to engage in a collaborative project at the institute for 1–3 months.

Jeremy will extend his Ph.D research on speech perception and Mandarin word learning, which he is conducting under the supervision of Prof. Quentin Qin. During the visit, he will collaborate with MARCS-based researchers (e.g., Prof. Paola Escudero) in a project on statistical speech learning.
